American dimes from earlier generations remain popular with collectors because of their silver content and historic designs. Roosevelt Dimes struck before 1965 are especially well known among buyers looking for older US silver coinage. Right now, BullionMax offers bags of 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes for purchase online.
Coin Highlights:
The Roosevelt Dime remains part of everyday US coinage and still carries the same basic artwork first introduced in 1946. Both the portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt and the reverse arrangement with the torch and branches have remained consistent throughout the series. Among modern US coins, the Roosevelt Dime is notable for keeping its original core design unchanged for decades.
Franklin D. Roosevelt served as President of the United States for four terms, making him the only president elected to the office four times. Following his passing in 1945, officials at the US Mint and Treasury supported efforts to place Roosevelt on the dime. The denomination was selected in part because of Roosevelt’s connection to the March of Dimes campaign created to combat polio during the Great Depression era.
On the obverse of the 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes is a left-facing portrait of President Roosevelt. His image has appeared on the dime since the series debuted in 1946.
The reverse of the coins includes a torch at the center with an olive branch on one side and an oak branch on the other. These elements are meant to symbolize liberty, peace, and strength.
These Roosevelt Dimes were previously used in circulation throughout the United States economy. Each coin contains 90% silver, a composition the US Mint stopped using in dimes beginning in 1965. Because of this, all coins in this listing were originally struck between 1946 and 1964.
The 90% Silver Roosevelt Dimes in this listing come in bags of 1,000 coins with a combined face value of $100 (USD). BullionMax cannot guarantee the exact dates or mint marks included with your order because selections are based on available inventory at the time of processing.
