With 35% silver content in each coin, Silver War Nickels remain a popular option for both collectors and silver buyers. These historic US nickels were produced during World War II and feature a unique wartime metal composition. BullionMax is pleased to offer $10 Face Value bags or rolls of 35% Silver War Nickels.
Coin Highlights:
Please note that these coins may arrive in either bags or rolls, depending on available inventory at the time your order is processed. Each bag or roll includes approximately 11.25 troy ounces of pure silver content. The nickels in these lots come from different years and may show varying levels of wear and condition. Our team selects the coins for each order based on current stock.
The United States Mint produced 35% Silver War Nickels from 1942 to 1945 during the height of World War II. Nickel metal was needed for military manufacturing, so the Mint adjusted the composition of the five-cent coin during those years. These wartime nickels were struck using a blend of 35% silver, 56% copper, and 9% manganese. Because of this unique mixture, the coins often display a different appearance compared to modern Jefferson Nickels. They are also easy to identify thanks to the large mint mark found above Monticello on the reverse. Many silver buyers appreciate these coins as an affordable way to own silver, while collectors value the connection to American wartime history.
The obverse of the 35% Silver War Nickel features a portrait of President Thomas Jefferson. This left-facing image of the third President has appeared on the Jefferson Nickel series for decades and remains one of the most recognizable designs in US coinage.
On the reverse side of the coin is an image of Jefferson’s Virginia estate, Monticello. During the wartime production years, the Mint added a large mint mark above the building to distinguish these silver-content nickels from standard issues.
Today is a good opportunity to purchase 35% Silver War Nickels ($10 Face Value) for your collection or investment portfolio. BullionMax ships all orders with care in discreet packaging, and every package is fully insured while in transit for added peace of mind.
