These proof coins feature frosted details layered over mirrored backgrounds for strong visual contrast. This release is the fourth design in the Seven Deadly Sins Series, with each coin presenting a creative interpretation of one of the classic deadly sins.

The concept of the Seven Deadly Sins dates back to the early Christian era and the teachings of the monk Evagrius Ponticus during the 4th century. His original list of harmful thoughts was later revised by Pope Gregory the Great in the 6th century into the seven sins that became central to Christian moral teaching and have remained widely recognized ever since.

On the obverse of 2026 Proof Cook Islands Silver Seven Deadly Sins Sloth Coins is a portrait of King Charles III. The image was created by Dan Thorne in 2024 and represents one of the first official portraits of His Majesty used on modern coinage. In this design, Charles III is shown in left-profile relief without a crown.

The reverse of 2026 1 oz Proof Silver Seven Deadly Sins Coins features a sloth sleeping peacefully on a branch. The design reflects the deadly sin of sloth, which traditionally represents more than simple laziness. In theological teachings, sloth refers to spiritual indifference and a lack of motivation to pursue meaningful responsibilities, personal growth, or moral purpose.
