The main design of the Mexican Silver Libertad features the famous Winged Victory, or “Libertad.” This image represents Mexico’s long fight for freedom and independence, a legacy dating back to the 19th century when the country gained independence from Spain.

Each 2025 1 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and is packaged in an individual flip for protection. In 2025, the Mexican Mint cut production for the entire Silver Libertad series and did not release any Gold Libertad coins. Because of this, the 2025 BU Silver Libertads have the lowest mintages so far, possibly making them more appealing to collectors in the future. Please note that these are spotted specimens. Known as “milk spots,” this type of spotting looks like a white or milky mark on the coin, often caused by residue from minting or handling.

On the obverse of the 2025 Mexican Silver Libertad Coins, you’ll find the Mexican coat of arms. This design shows a golden eagle sitting on a prickly pear cactus with a serpent in its beak and claws. For the 1 oz and larger coins, the main emblem is surrounded by 10 older versions of Mexico’s national seal, showing the country’s historic symbols.

The reverse design of the 2025 1 oz Silver Libertad Coins features Winged Victory in a three-quarter view. This design was first introduced in 1996 and shows Victory standing on the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City, one of the country’s most famous landmarks.
