The obverse sides of the 1 kilo and 1 oz Year of the Tiger silver coin share the same touching design: a tiger and cub exploring a rocky landscape. Bamboo stalks frame the pair, and ferns rise from the bottom of the scene. The adult tiger gazes straight out at us, fearless, one paw raised as if to turn and challenge the viewer – beware! Behind, the cub stares upward with eyes full of adoration, utterly oblivious to whatever's engaged Dad's or Mom's attention. Honestly, it's a poignant scene that evokes the bonds of parental love and responsibility, the constant alertness the world requires from all parents.
