Introducing the 2019-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins, a remarkable addition to your collection. Originally launched by the United States Mint in 1986, the Proof version of these coins was crafted at the San Francisco Mint. After a hiatus, the San Francisco Mint resumed production in 2011, making the 2019-S edition a significant release.
Coin Highlights:
The 1986 American Silver Eagles had both BU and Proof coins from the San Francisco Mint. While the BU coins lacked S mint marks, the Proof Silver Eagles proudly featured them on the reverse face. BU coins were produced in San Francisco until 1998, whereas Proof Silver Eagles were exclusively minted in San Francisco until 1992.
From 1993 to 2000, the Philadelphia Mint took over the production of Proof Silver Eagles, marked with P mint. In 2001, the West Point Mint continued the tradition, producing both BU and Proof coins. However, in 2011, the San Francisco Mint rejoined, marking a significant return. The 2019-S edition remains one of the lowest-minted coins in the series.
Adorned with Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic design, the obverse features Walking Liberty in left-profile relief as she strides toward the sun on the horizon. The reverse showcases the heraldic eagle with a face value of $1 (USD), along with the US national shield, arrows of war, and olive branch of peace.
