Discover the 1998 American Silver Eagle, struck during a historic period in the series. This particular coin is from a time of low mintage, making it a sought-after piece. Back in 1998, these Silver Eagles were only available in bullion and proof, and demand was modest across the board. Now, you have the opportunity to own the 1998-P Proof American Silver Eagle in perfect condition, from BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
All 1998 Proof American Silver Eagle coins available through BullionMax are pristine specimens. Graded PR70 by the Professional Coin Grading Service, these coins boast full, original mint luster and exhibit no detracting flaws of any kind.
The deep-cameo designation is a testament to the visual brilliance of these proof coins. The frosted finish of the design stands out vividly against the deeply-mirrored, clear background fields visible on the coin.
During the introduction of the American Silver Eagle, the proof version was struck by the San Francisco Mint. However, from 1994 to 2000, the production shifted to the Philadelphia Mint. This coin represents one of the final years of production in Philadelphia before the West Point Mint took over in 2001.
On the obverse of this American Silver Eagle is the timeless image of Walking Liberty, originally used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. Lady Liberty is depicted walking toward the setting sun with the American flag draped around her shoulders.
The reverse features the heraldic eagle, a national symbol of the United States. The bald eagle clutches its famous arrows and olive branch, sitting behind a heraldic shield that includes 13 stars overhead, symbolizing the nation’s original colonies.
