Product Details

The Chinese Panda Series is among the world’s favorite silver bullion coins. Initially introduced in 1983, the coins in the Silver Panda Series were standardized to 1 oz silver bullion in 1989. These coins are as cherished as their gold counterparts and feature a new Giant Panda design every year. Today, 1996 1 oz Chinese Silver Panda Coins are available to you online from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available to you in protective plastic flips!
  • 14th date in the Chinese Silver Panda Series!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • The face value of 10 Yuan is fully backed by the Chinese government.
  • On the obverse is the image of a Giant Panda with its young cub.
  • The reverse face of the coin comes with the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests.

In 1996, there was significant demand for the Chinese Panda Series coins. The gold coin outshone the Silver Panda in terms of demand, but both were sought after due to the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming transfer of Hong Kong from British to Chinese control. Both the gold and silver coins featured date mark variations, with larger or smaller date marks based on the mint of origin.

All of these 1996 1 oz Chinese Silver Panda Coins are available to you with protective plastic flips. Most Gold and Silver Pandas from 1996 were minted by either the Shanghai Mint or the Shenyang Mint.

The obverse of the 1996 Chinese Silver Panda Coins shows a Giant Panda with its young cub. They are depicted among bamboo shoots, with the adult panda seated and its cub on all fours beside it.

The reverse side of the 1996 1 oz Silver Panda Coin features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. Constructed between 1406 and 1420, this building is part of the Temple of Heaven Complex, a Taoist religious site in Beijing.
