Among the best-known names in the precious metals world, Engelhard is recognized for its dependable silver and gold bars. While Engelhard no longer produces bullion, many of its bars are still traded today on the secondary market. At one point, Engelhard also made bars for other companies, including the Gold Standard Corporation. Right now, you can find the 10 oz Engelhard Gold Standard Pressed Silver Bar available at BullionMax.
Bar Highlights:
Pressed silver bars are made using a different process than poured bars. Instead of starting with melted silver, manufacturers begin with smooth silver “blanks” shaped like bars. These blanks are placed into a high-pressure stamping machine with a specially made die. The die presses a design into the blank, forming the final image on the bar. This technique helps create bars with clear, sharp visuals and a polished finish. Because this process skips the melting stage, pressed bars tend to be less costly to make than poured ones.
Each 10 oz Engelhard Gold Standard Pressed Silver Bar is individually sealed in protective plastic. Engelhard produced these bars in the United States for the Gold Standard Corporation. The bars have crisp edges and detailed designs.
The obverse of the bar includes the Gold Standard Corporation logo. This brand was founded in 1977 by Conrad J. Braun in Kansas City. You’ll also see a unique serial number, along with details such as the bar’s weight, purity, and metal type. The reverse side of the bar is left plain.
