The US Eagle series was America’s first major coin collection, starting in 1794 with denominations of $10, $5, and $2.50, known respectively as the Eagle, Half Eagle, and Quarter Eagle. The $10 Gold Eagle was the most consistent of these and featured the longest-running design, known as the Liberty Gold Eagle. Now, Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins in About Uncirculated condition are available online at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
On the obverse of Pre-33 Liberty Gold Eagles, you’ll find a design created by Christian Gobrecht. It features Lady Liberty in a left-profile portrait, wearing a coronet crown. Surrounding her image is a ring of 13 stars, with a date mark at the bottom of the coin.
The reverse side of the $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin showcases the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design presents a bald eagle with the US national shield on its chest, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Depending on the coin, the design field may include the national motto “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
Liberty Gold Eagles were produced over a span of 70 years, with only one significant design change during that time. In late 1866, the US Mint added a banner with the national motto “In God We Trust” above the eagle on the reverse side.
These Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins are in About Uncirculated 55 condition, which is considered one of the higher grades for AU coins. Coins at this level show very light or barely noticeable friction on the highest points of the design, with medium to near-full luster. Please keep in mind that we do not guarantee the specific year of issue or design type; all coins are chosen randomly after your payment is processed.
