The 1/10 oz British Gold Britannia Coin has been a staple in the gold bullion world since its introduction. As one of the original sizes released in the Britannia Series, this coin has remained a popular option for those seeking fractional gold with historic appeal. Right now, BullionMax offers 1/10 oz British Gold Britannia Coins from random years of issue.
Coin Highlights:
The 1/10 oz Gold Britannia made its debut in 1987, alongside three other weights: 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz. From its launch until 2012, the coin was produced with .917 fine gold, also known as 22-karat. Starting in 2013, the Royal Mint transitioned to .9999 fine gold, or 24-karat, to meet evolving market standards and preferences.
When you order through this listing, you’ll receive coins from random years. We cannot guarantee a specific date mark, as selection is based on what is available when your order is fulfilled. If you order more than one, you might receive coins with the same design and year.
Philip Nathan’s design on the reverse side of each Gold Britannia Coin shows Britannia standing strong along the coast. She holds a trident to represent naval strength, a shield to signify defense, and wears a traditional Corinthian helmet.
The obverse side features either Queen Elizabeth II or King Charles III, depending on the year. From 1987 to 1997, coins show the Raphael Maklouf portrait. Between 1998 and 2015, the design shifted to Ian Rank-Broadley’s version. In 2016, Jody Clark’s portrait became standard until it was replaced by King Charles III’s effigy in mid-2023.
