On the reverse, the 2025 Isle of Man Gold Angel shows Archangel Michael in battle with a dragon. This scene, drawn from religious lore, represents his fight against evil. The design shows Michael with a shield featuring a Christian cross, emphasizing his role as a spiritual protector. Unlike other depictions, this one leaves out additional symbols like scales, keeping the focus on the action of the moment.
This dramatic battle scene is inspired by the Book of Revelation, where Michael leads the angels of heaven against a dragon, often interpreted as Satan. The image has long served as a symbol of good defeating evil, and order triumphing over chaos in Christian art and storytelling.
