Each 2025 1/10 oz British Gold Britannia Coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. These coins are individually packaged in protective flips or can be ordered in plastic tubes containing 25 coins.
The design of the British Britannia coins was created by Philip Nathan in 1987. His image of Britannia was selected by The Royal Mint through an artistic competition. From 1987 until 2023, Queen Elizabeth II was featured on the coins. Following her passing in late 2022, King Charles III was introduced on the coins starting in mid-2023.
On the obverse of the 2025 British Gold Britannia Coin, you’ll find a portrait of King Charles III. This effigy, created by Martin Jennings, is one of the first Commonwealth portraits to be used on currency after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. The design shows Charles III in left-profile relief, without a crown.
The reverse of the 2025 1/10 oz Gold Britannia Coin showcases Britannia herself. Nathan’s design presents Britannia in full-length relief, wearing a Corinthian helmet. She holds a trident in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, resting on the Union Jack shield. The background features a latent security device, micro-text engraving around Britannia, tincture lines on the Union Jack, and textured wave motion lines.
