The obverse of the 2014-W 1/2 oz First Spouse Lou Hoover Gold Coin showcases a right-facing portrait of Lou Hoover. As First Lady, she was actively involved with the Girl Scouts and played a key role in humanitarian efforts both before and after World War I.

On the reverse of the 2014-W US Mint First Spouse Lou Hoover Gold Coin, a 1920s radio is featured, symbolizing a milestone in public communication. While Grace Coolidge was the first First Lady to speak on the radio, Lou Hoover was the first to address the nation in a public broadcast.

Lou Hoover was known for her forward-thinking views on women’s roles in society. She used her platform to advocate for improved access to education and professional opportunities for women. A skilled speaker and writer, she challenged societal norms and became a symbol of leadership for women of her time.

These 2014-W 1/2 oz US Mint First Spouse Lou Hoover Gold Coins are in flawless condition. With a Mint State 70 grade, each coin retains its original mint luster and has no visible imperfections.
