Introduced by the People’s Bank of China in 1982, the Chinese Gold Panda Series has gained recognition around the world for its yearly design changes and celebration of the iconic Giant Panda. These coins are a favorite for both collectors and investors thanks to their beautiful designs and high gold purity. BullionMax now has 2010 1 Kilo Proof Chinese Gold Panda Coins available in certified condition.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse of the 2010 1 Kilo Proof Chinese Gold Panda shows the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is the centerpiece of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Seen from the outside, the artwork captures the building at the base of its well-known staircase. The temple complex dates back to the early 1400s and plays a major role in traditional Chinese culture.
On the reverse side of the 2010 Gold Panda, you’ll find two Giant Pandas in a playful setting. Although pandas usually live alone and mark their territory, they can also be quite playful. They often tumble, roll, and play with toys in zoos and nature reserves, offering a glimpse into their curious personalities.
When they’re not playing, Giant Pandas spend a lot of time eating bamboo—between 10 and 16 hours a day. Because bamboo isn’t very nutritious, pandas need to eat a lot of it, usually between 20 and 40 pounds daily. They use their strong grip and unique pseudo-thumb to hold and eat bamboo with ease.
These 2010 1 Kilo Proof Chinese Gold Panda Coins are certified PF69 by the NGC and come sealed in plastic slabs. PF69 means the coin is nearly perfect, with only tiny flaws that don’t affect the main design. As ultra-cameo specimens, these coins feature frosted images that stand out against mirror-like backgrounds.
