The reverse features an eagle family symbolizing the importance of family in America, designed by Miley Busiek and sculpted by Sherl J. Winter.

These American Gold Eagle coins are made of a durable composition of 22 karat gold, consisting of 91.67% gold, 3% silver, and 5.33% copper. The 1 oz Gold Eagle is the largest of the four coins, with each coin weight decreasing in size. Each coin arrives in a protective plastic flip.

In 2006, the price of gold soared, reaching over $700 per ounce. Starting the year at $530.00 per ounce, it finished at $632.00 per ounce, a remarkable 23% increase.
