Product Details

The Chinese Gold Panda series is a popular gold bullion collection issued annually by the Chinese Mint. First introduced in 1982, the series originally featured 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins, with the 1/20 oz option added in 1983. A key feature of this series is its changing reverse design, which showcases a new Giant Panda image every year. Now, you can purchase the 1985 1/20 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coin through BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Comes with a sealed plastic pouch!
  • 4th issue in the Gold Panda series!
  • Contains 1/20 Troy oz of .999 pure gold.
  • Bears a face value of 5 Yuan, backed by the Chinese government.
  • The obverse features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in Beijing.
  • The reverse presents an active panda cub at play.

As panda cubs grow, their playful activities evolve. Younger cubs engage in climbing, chasing, and mock battles that mimic the survival behaviors of adult pandas. These activities help develop their agility, coordination, and social skills.

Each 1985 1/20 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coin in this listing is securely housed in a protective plastic pouch. This edition marks the fourth overall release in the Gold Panda Series and the third year for the 1/20 oz coin, which was first introduced in 1983.

The obverse of the 1985 Chinese Gold Panda Coin features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a key structure within Beijing’s Temple of Heaven. This design has been a consistent part of the Gold Panda series since its inception.

On the reverse of 1985 1/20 oz Gold Pandas, a playful panda cub is depicted swimming near a bamboo shoot. Playful interactions like these are essential for young pandas, helping them develop the skills necessary for independence in the wild.
