Introducing the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf – a beloved classic in the world of gold coins. Originally introduced in 1979, it quickly gained popularity as one of the first easily accessible gold bullion coins. In 1982, these iconic coins were upgraded from .999 gold to an even purer .9999 gold. Among the various fractional weight options, the 1982 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin shines brightly. And now, you can make it yours at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
Rest assured, your 1982 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin will arrive in protective plastic flips, preserving its original condition. Each coin in this offering contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 gold.
When the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf made its debut in 1979, it marked a significant moment in the world of gold bullion coins. At the time, the South African Krugerrand was the only other option, but it wasn’t easily accessible to collectors and investors. In response, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a 1/4 oz and a 1/10 oz in 1982. This was followed by the introduction of a 1/2 oz coin in 1986 and a 1/20 oz version in 1993.
The obverse side of the 1982 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin features an elegant portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief, captured at the age of 39. This image, created by Arnold Machin, first graced Canadian coins in 1965, making it a historic and recognizable feature. Important identification marks can be found both above and below Her Majesty’s effigy.
Turning to the reverse, you’ll find the timeless Maple Leaf design. This symbol holds deep pride and significance for Canadians and has remained virtually unchanged since its debut in the coin program. Crafted by Walter Ott, this iconic image stands as a testament to Canada’s heritage.
