In 2021, the United States Mint brought back two well-known silver dollar designs that continue to attract attention from collectors today. The modern Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar programs build on the popularity of their historic predecessors, offering familiar designs in newly struck silver coins. These releases add classic American imagery to the Mint’s ongoing silver bullion lineup for both collectors and investors. With their long-standing reputation and recognizable artwork, certified Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are now available online from BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse of Morgan Silver Dollar Coins displays a left-facing image of Lady Liberty created by engraver George T. Morgan. Liberty is shown wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with cotton blossoms and wheat ears, which represent the nation’s agricultural roots. The overall style of the portrait reflects classical influences drawn from ancient Greek and Roman coinage, giving the design a timeless appearance that continues to resonate with collectors.
On the reverse of Morgan Dollar Coins, the design features a heraldic eagle with its wings fully extended. The eagle holds arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing a balance between strength and peace. Surrounding the eagle is a partial wreath made of cotton and wheat, reinforcing the agricultural themes seen on the obverse. This reverse design complements the front with strong national symbolism and traditional artistic elements.
Morgan Dollar production came to an end after 1904 as earlier silver legislation, including the Bland-Allison and Sherman Acts, had expired. At the same time, large quantities of silver dollars remained stored in Treasury vaults, leaving little reason to continue striking new coins. For the next seventeen years, no Morgan Dollars were produced, creating long gaps in the series. These gaps later contributed to increased collector interest in certain dates and mintmarks.
These Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are offered in Mint State 69 condition. Coins at this grade display full mint luster with only minor imperfections, such as small contact marks or light hairlines located outside the main focal areas. Specific years of issue and slab label styles cannot be guaranteed, as all coins are selected at random from available inventory.
