Product Details

The Nez Perce have lived in the Idaho region for thousands of years, building winter villages in river valleys and moving with the seasons to hunt, fish, and gather roots across the plateau lands. Daily life often followed salmon runs, camas harvests, and buffalo hunts east of the mountains, creating a semi-nomadic way of living shaped by close knowledge of the land. The tribe is honored in the 46th release of the Native America the Beautiful Series. Today, 2026 1 oz Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho Silver Coins are available from BullionMax.

  • 46th coin in the Native America the Beautiful Series!

  • The reverse features the common emblem for the series.
  • Coins are NOT US legal tender.

The Nez Perce were given their well-known name by French traders as a phrase meaning “pierced nose,” though that practice was not common among the people themselves. They call themselves Nimíipuu, meaning “the people.” Their ancestral homelands stretch across areas now known as Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, with a strong presence in the valleys of the Clearwater, Snake, and Salmon rivers. Famous for expert horsemanship and for developing the Appaloosa horse, the Nez Perce built a culture closely tied to the rivers and open plateaus of their region.

All 2026 1 oz Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho Silver Coins offered here come in a protective capsule and include a presentation box. Each coin also arrives with a Certificate of Authenticity and displays classic proof features, including frosted design elements set against mirrored background fields.

On the obverse of 2026 Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho Silver Coins, you’ll see Nez Perce tribal members building canoes beneath moonlight. In September 1805, the Lewis and Clark Expedition entered Nez Perce territory while hungry and worn down. The tribe provided support that likely helped the expedition continue, offering food, assisting with canoe construction, and sharing guidance that aided travel along the rivers toward the Pacific.

The reverse of 2026 1 oz Proof NATB Idaho Silver Coins features an American bald eagle. Used as the shared emblem for this series, the design places the eagle’s head in the center of an eight-pointed star. Between each point of the star, you’ll notice an arrowhead detail, creating a repeating pattern around the outer edge.
