The Burnished Silver Eagle was first released by the United States Mint in 2006 as the third type of coin in the American Silver Eagle series. Each one starts as a raw silver blank placed into a spinning drum with metal pellets and a special liquid. This process smooths the surface and gives the coin its unique satin-like appearance. Today, BullionMax offers 2025-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins that have been professionally certified.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2025-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coin in this listing is housed in a protective PCGS slab and holds a near-perfect SP69 grade. This means the coin has full original luster and no more than two small imperfections, like tiny marks or faint lines found outside the main design areas. It’s also labeled as a First Strike, meaning it was received by PCGS for grading within 30 days of its official release.
The bald eagle has been a symbol of the United States since 1782, chosen for the Great Seal for its power, long life, and status as a native species. Over time, the eagle has appeared on many U.S. coins, both in natural and heraldic styles—sometimes flying, other times perched with wings spread and arrows and olive branches in its claws.
The obverse of the 2025-W Burnished Silver Eagle shows the famous Walking Liberty image by Adolph A. Weinman. This design, originally from 1916, features Liberty walking toward the rising sun with the American flag around her shoulders. She stretches out one arm as she carries oak and laurel branches in the other.
On the reverse, you’ll see an eagle in flight, designed by Emily Damstra. The eagle is shown gliding with powerful wings and grabbing an oak branch with its sharp talons.
