The United States Navy traces its start to October 13, 1775, when the Continental Congress approved a small naval force during the American Revolution. Those first ships were converted merchant vessels meant to disrupt British supply lines and challenge Royal Navy control along the coast. To mark the Navy’s 250th anniversary in October 2025, the United States Mint has issued a Proof Silver Eagle with a special US Navy privy mark. Right now, 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagle Coins are available at BullionMax in certified condition.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagle Coin offered here is in near-perfect condition. PR69 coins show full, original mint luster with no more than two tiny imperfections. These minor marks must be outside the main focal areas and are limited to small contact marks or faint hairlines. DCAM means deep-cameo proof, describing strong, frosted details against clear, mirror-like fields. First Strike indicates the coins were received for certification within 30 days of their official release.
The US Navy recorded early successes in the Quasi-War with France (1798–1800), when American frigates captured privateers and safeguarded merchant shipping. The Navy also proved its reach in the First Barbary War (1801–1805). Lieutenant Stephen Decatur’s raid to destroy the captured USS Philadelphia in Tripoli harbor became famous, praised at the time as an act of great boldness. These victories helped establish the young nation’s naval reputation and showed it could operate far from home despite limited resources.
On the obverse of the 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagles, Walking Liberty appears with the US Navy privy mark. In left-profile relief, Liberty moves toward the sunrise while draped in the American flag. The US Navy privy shows a front-facing bald eagle holding an anchor.
The reverse of the 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy Silver Eagle Coin features the American bald eagle. Designed in 2020 by Emily Damstra, this modern image captures the eagle in flight with flexed wings and an oak branch held in its talons.
