Formally established on November 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps began when the Second Continental Congress approved two battalions of Continental Marines to serve with the Continental Navy in the American Revolution. Continuing the Armed Forces Privy Series, the US Mint issues a Proof American Silver Eagle featuring the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor insignia of the Marine Corps. Now, 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy American Silver Eagle Coins in certified condition are available online at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse of the 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy Silver Eagle Coin presents Adolph A. Weinman’s 1916 Walking Liberty design. Alongside Liberty, you’ll find the Marine Corps privy carrying the eagle, globe, and anchor emblem used since 1868. The eagle represents the nation Marines defend, the globe reflects worldwide reach, and the fouled anchor honors the service’s naval roots and close ties to the US Navy.
The reverse of the 2025-P Proof Marine Corps Privy American Silver Eagle features Emily Damstra’s modern bald eagle design. Introduced in 2020 and used on Silver Eagles since 2021, the eagle appears in flight gripping a sturdy oak branch in its talons.
The Marine Corps played an important role in the Mexican-American War, including the amphibious landing at Veracruz in 1847—the largest amphibious operation in U.S. history up to that point—and the push to Mexico City. Marines stormed Chapultepec Castle in September 1847, a hard-fought action that opened the way to the capital and inspired the “Halls of Montezuma” line in the Marines’ Hymn.
These 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy American Silver Eagle Coins come in perfect condition within protective slabs. PR70 coins display full, original mint luster with no visible detractions. DCAM denotes deep-cameo proofs with strongly frosted designs over mirrored fields. First Strike indicates a coin received for grading within 30 days of the US Mint’s release.
