The obverse of the 2025 1 oz Proof Rectangular Silver Dragon includes a portrait of King Charles III. This design shows the King in left-profile relief without a crown, marking the first official image of His Majesty on Perth Mint coinage. The artwork was created by Dan Thorne.
On the reverse of the 2025 Proof Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coin, you’ll see a classic Chinese dragon. Lucas Bowers created this image showing the dragon with a long, scaled body, four legs with sharp claws, and deer-like antlers. These dragons are often pictured flying through clouds or rising from water, reflecting their control over rain and weather.
Traditional Chinese dragon designs can vary in small but meaningful ways. One key detail is the number of claws. In ancient China, five claws meant the dragon was for the emperor, four claws for nobility, and three claws were used in general decoration.
Each 2025 1 oz Proof Australian Rectangular Silver Dragon Coin is shipped in a display window box with a themed outer shipper. Inside the package, you’ll also find a Certificate of Authenticity from the Perth Mint.
