On the reverse, the coin presents a blue whale moving through Pacific waters. These whales are found in oceans around the world, living in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. They tend to stay in deeper waters and migrate between feeding and breeding areas depending on the season.

Blue whales are generally solitary creatures but may come together where food is plentiful. They dive to depths of up to 500 meters to feed on krill, taking in huge gulps of water. The water is then pushed out through their baleen plates, trapping the krill inside for feeding.
