Over the years, the Winged Victory has become one of Mexico’s most recognized symbols. This version of the figure is based on the Angel of Independence statue in Mexico City, which was unveiled in 1910. The statue merges elements of European neoclassical design with Mexican cultural themes.

Each 2025 1/4 oz Mexican Silver Libertad is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes sealed in a plastic flip. For 2025, the Mexican Mint reduced the mintage of Mexican Silver Libertads to a significant degree and chose not to offer any 2025 Mexican Gold Libertads. The BU Silver Libertads, in particular, feature mintage levels at unprecedented lows, suggesting a higher level of scarcity in the future.

The obverse of the coin displays Mexico’s national emblem: a golden eagle grasping a snake in its beak and talon, balanced atop a cactus. This design is a key part of Mexico’s national identity and appears on many of the country’s official seals and documents.

On the reverse, you’ll find the Winged Victory, also known as the Angel of Independence. This image was introduced on Libertad silver coins in 1996 and shows Victory in profile standing on a tall pedestal in the center of Mexico City.
