Headquartered in St. Kitts and Nevis since 1983, the ECCB is responsible for the monetary policy of eight countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The Eastern Caribbean dollar has been fixed at a rate of EC$2.70 to US$1 since 1976.

On the reverse of the coin, you’ll find two flamingos lifting their heads and looking toward one another. These are Caribbean flamingos, known for their bright pink feathers, long legs, and curved beaks that help them filter food from the water.
