Product Details

The Peace Silver Dollar was the last silver dollar design used in regular circulation by the United States Mint. Created by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar debuted in 1921 and was issued over a span of ten years between 1921 and 1928, then again in 1934 and 1935. Right now, you can find 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins in Mint State condition available at BullionMax.

Anthony de Francisci’s reverse design for the Peace Silver Dollar marked a shift in style for American coinage. Rather than showing a powerful eagle in flight with weapons, he chose a more peaceful image that reflected the country’s hope for a calm future following World War I.

Each 1935 Peace Silver Dollar in this listing is housed in a secure, clear plastic slab and carries an MS64 grade from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Coins at this level show average mint luster, along with several small contact marks. A few moderate marks or small hairline patches may also be visible.

The obverse of the 1935 Peace Dollar Coin shows Lady Liberty in a left-facing profile. Her hair flows freely as she wears a crown of rays, symbolizing light. It’s believed that de Francisci modeled this design on his wife’s facial features, giving the coin a personal connection to the artist.

On the reverse of 1935 Peace Silver Dollars, you’ll see the bald eagle at rest. It’s perched on a rock, wings tucked at its side, holding an olive branch in its talons. The eagle looks ahead with a calm expression, with the rising sun in the background as a sign of hope and renewal.
