Product Details

In December 1921, the United States Mint introduced the Peace Silver Dollar, marking the last time a 90% silver dollar was made for everyday use. The design of this coin reflected both the nation’s success in World War I and its hopes for continued peace. Right now, certified 1926 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available to order online at BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships in protective plastic slabs!
  • 6th release in the Peace Silver Dollar series!
  • Total mintage of 1,939,000 coins at the Philadelphia Mint!
  • Contains .7734 Troy oz of actual silver.
  • Face value of $1 (USD) backed by the United States government.
  • Graded Mint State 63 by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).
  • Obverse shows Lady Liberty.
  • Reverse features a bald eagle at rest.

Each 1926 Peace Silver Dollar listed here has received a Mint State 63 grade from PCGS. Coins at this level will show minor abrasions, small marks, and a few heavier lines or contact points, but they still maintain strong original mint luster without needing magnification.

Anthony de Francisci created the Peace Dollar’s artwork. An Italian immigrant, de Francisci arrived in America at the age of 18. His wife, Teresa, is believed to have served as the model for Liberty’s portrait, giving the design a personal meaning that reflected the country’s postwar optimism and modern outlook.

The obverse of the 1926 Peace Silver Dollar depicts Lady Liberty in a left-facing profile. Her hair appears windswept, and she wears a radiant crown. This image represents the nation’s hard-earned peace and a hopeful look toward the future.

On the reverse side of the 1926 Peace Dollar, de Francisci’s design shows a calm but strong bald eagle resting on a rock. The eagle’s wings are folded at its sides as it looks out toward a rising sun, symbolizing peace, hope, and strength.
