The 1 oz Sunshine Walking Liberty Round is part of that project, now available from BullionMax.
Round Highlights:
The original Walking Liberty Half Dollar was designed in 1916 by the sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, a student of the famous sculptor and coin designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Named after a famous depiction of Lady Liberty striding across a dawn landscape, Weinman’s Walking Liberty Half Dollar circulated for just over three decades and became a famous collector’s coin thereafter.
For collectors who can’t lay their hands on an original historic coin, the Sunshine Walking Liberty Round duplicates its design in an affordable format. It comes individually packaged in a flip-top plastic container or ships in mint tubes in groups of twenty, and it features Sunshine’s cutting-edge MintMark SI technology: an anti-counterfeiting micro-engraving visibly only under a patented Sunshine Decoder Lens.
The round’s obverse side features Weinman’s Walking Liberty striding with an outstretched hand toward the dawn of a brighter future, with a hand outstretched and Old Glory draped around her shoulders. The reverse features a heraldic bald eagle with the MintMark SI security feature inset between its outstretched wings. The engraving reproduces the original coin’s images, save for the absence of a dollar value or year of minting.
