Every 2010 1 oz Canadian Platinum Maple Leaf Coin ships in a protective plastic flip to keep it safe. When the Platinum Maple Leaf series debuted in 1988, the Royal Canadian Mint offered both 1 oz and fractional-ounce coins. This continued until 1999, followed by a single issue in 2002.
