President Franklin D. Roosevelt remains the only US president elected to more than two terms in office. He served four consecutive terms before his death in 1945 near the end of World War II. His legacy continues today on the US dime. BullionMax now offers 90% Silver Roosevelt Dime Rolls for purchase online.
Coin Highlights:
With this listing from BullionMax, you will receive a full roll of Roosevelt Dimes with a combined face value of $5 (USD). These historic US coins feature Franklin D. Roosevelt on the obverse, along with the classic reverse design created by John R. Sinnock featuring a torch, olive branch, and oak branch.
These Roosevelt Dimes contain 90% silver, making them popular with both collectors and silver buyers. To qualify for this listing, all coins were produced between 1946 and 1964. Beginning in 1965, the US Mint changed the composition of circulating dimes to a copper-nickel clad blend, ending the use of silver in standard US dimes.
The Roosevelt Dime was introduced shortly after President Roosevelt passed away in 1945. Congressman Ralph H. Daughton of Virginia proposed the design change to honor Roosevelt’s service to the nation. John R. Sinnock, Chief Engraver of the US Mint, created the new design to replace the Mercury Dime that had circulated since 1916. Sinnock became the first US Mint employee in decades to design a regular-issue American coin.
On the obverse side of the coin is a portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt shown in left-profile relief. Roosevelt served longer than any other president in US history, winning four elections during his time in office. After his presidency, the US Constitution was amended to officially limit presidents to two terms, a practice that had previously been followed as tradition since the presidency of George Washington.
The reverse side of the Roosevelt Dime includes a central torch representing Liberty. An olive branch appears to the left as a symbol of peace, while an oak branch on the right stands for strength and achievement. The reverse also includes inscriptions showing the denomination, national motto, and country of issue.
