The Arizona Goldback Series brings Goldbacks to the American Southwest with artwork inspired by Arizona’s long story. Each piece touches on eras from the region’s Spanish and Mexican periods to its path to U.S. statehood. Today, 8 Piece Arizona Goldback Gold Note Sets are available from BullionMax.
Note Set Highlights:
The designs in the Arizona Goldback Series honor the state’s past, from indigenous roots to becoming a U.S. state. After Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821, Arizona sat on Mexico’s far northern edge, where towns such as Tubac faced Apache resistance and limited support from distant Mexico City. The Mexican-American War and the Gadsden Purchase of 1854 moved most of present-day Arizona into U.S. hands. While the territory was once known for violent episodes like the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, stronger governance eventually followed, and Arizona gained statehood on February 14, 1912, the final contiguous state to join the Union.
All 8 Piece Arizona Goldback Gold Note Sets include individual protective currency sleeves for each note. With the Florida Goldback Series debuting in early 2025, the broader Goldback lineup added three denominations now found in this set. Alongside the original 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 Goldbacks, this collection also features 1/2, 2, and 100 Goldbacks. Every note carries its own Arizona-focused design.
Images across the Goldbacks in this 8 Piece Arizona Goldback Set reflect Arizona’s development from early days to modern times. Following the Gadsden Purchase in 1854, miners, ranchers, and other settlers arrived and reshaped the territory over the next decades. New finds of copper, silver, and gold drove rapid growth in towns such as Tombstone, Bisbee, and Jerome, and the arrival of railroads in the 1880s linked remote communities to national markets, speeding up settlement and commerce.
