The 2026 schedule at the United States Mint brings two major milestones for its top bullion coins. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the American Eagle program and the 20th year of the American Buffalo Gold Coin, first introduced in 2006. Now, you can get 2026 1 oz American Gold Buffalo Tubes at BullionMax.
Coin Tube Highlights:
The American Gold Buffalo debuted in 2006, using the classic designs from the 1913 Buffalo Nickel created by James Earle Fraser. The first release sold 337,012 coins, a record that stood until 2021 when 350,500 coins were sold. That total was surpassed again in 2022 with sales of 410,000 coins.
Each 2026 1 oz American Gold Buffalo Tube includes 20 individual coins. Together, the coins hold 20 Troy ounces of 24-karat gold, all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and packaged in a secure acrylic tube.
The obverse of the 2026 American Gold Buffalo displays a right-facing portrait of an indigenous figure. Fraser created this image in 1913 by combining the features of three Native American individuals from the early 20th century into one composite design.
On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Gold Buffalo is a left-profile depiction of an American bison. Also designed by Fraser, the artwork is inspired by a real bison named Black Diamond, who lived at the Central Park Zoo in New York during the early 1900s. In the design, the bison is shown with its head lowered as it grazes on a small rise.
