Each 2026 1/2 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with your choice of single or bulk packaging. Single coins ship in plastic flips, while groups of 10 coins are sealed together in a plastic tube.

This coin series honors the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Formed in 1842 by members of the Vienna Court Opera, the group set out to present symphonic works outside their opera commitments. Under the guidance of conductor Otto Nicolai, the orchestra adopted a self-governing approach in which musicians selected conductors and made artistic decisions together—an uncommon practice in the 19th century.

The 2026 Austrian Gold Philharmonic coins display the Great Pipe Organ inside the Musikverein on the obverse. The original instrument was built by Friedrich Ladegast in 1872 and has since seen thoughtful updates and maintenance by later organ builders.

On the reverse of the 2026 1/2 oz Gold Philharmonic Coins, a set of classical instruments symbolizes the orchestra. A central cello is flanked by four violins, with a bassoon, harp, and Vienna horn arranged behind to complete the composition.
