This updated look features a close-up portrait of a bald eagle and added security details, bringing a fresh modern style to the series while keeping the classic feel collectors expect. Even with the redesign, the Mint preserved the well-known Saint-Gaudens obverse, helping the coin stay tied to America’s numismatic tradition.
