Product Details

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf series debuted in 1979 and quickly became one of the most influential modern bullion coin programs in the world. Produced by the Royal Canadian Mint, it helped set expectations for purity and overall minting quality in the global gold market. The series was the first widely available bullion coin to feature .999 fine gold purity, and in 1982, the Mint improved the standard to .9999 fine gold. Today, 2011 1/2 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available online at BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coin arrives in an individual flip!
  • 34th release of Gold Maple Leafs!
  • Largest fractional-ounce Maple Leaf!
  • Contains 1/2 troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Issued a face value of $20 (CAD) by Canada.
  • Obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse includes the sugar maple leaf.

For the obverse of the 2011 1/2 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin, you will find Susanna Blunt’s well-known portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This design was introduced in 2003 and shows the Queen without a crown, offering a more modern look compared to earlier portraits. Around the rim of the coin are inscriptions noting the face value and the year, creating a clean and balanced design that reflects the Royal Canadian Mint’s attention to detail.

In the reverse design of 2011 Canadian Gold Maple Leafs, the coin features the classic sugar maple leaf image that has become a symbol of Canadian bullion coinage. The original design was created by Walter Ott, an engraver for the Royal Canadian Mint, and remains a staple of the series. The leaf is presented with sharp detailing, including the visible veins and natural shape.

The 2011 1/2 oz Gold Maple Leaf coin offers investors a convenient mid-sized gold option, sitting between smaller fractional weights and the popular 1 oz coin. It contains 1/2 troy oz of .9999 fine gold and comes from a series trusted worldwide for its consistent purity and recognizable design. While later releases added newer anti-counterfeiting technology, this issue still delivers the quality and reliability the series is known for.

These 2011 1/2 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available with individual flips. This release is a practical choice for investors looking to add fractional gold to their holdings, and it also represents an established period in the long-running Maple Leaf program.
