The obverse of the 2006-W Reverse Proof American Gold Eagle showcases Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ classic image of Lady Liberty. Liberty strides forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, set before sunrays and encircled by a ring of stars.

On the reverse of 2006-W 1 oz Reverse Proof Gold Eagle Coins, Miley Busiek’s original design of a family of bald eagles appears. The scene features a female eagle in the nest with hatchlings while a male eagle flies overhead.
