Goldbacks are privately issued notes designed as a voluntary local currency, created using a thin layer of 24-karat gold sealed between durable layers of polyester film. Each note includes detailed artwork and contains a precise fractional amount of physical gold. This format makes Goldbacks one of the few modern currencies that combine gold ownership with everyday usability. First introduced in Utah, the Goldback program has expanded to additional states while maintaining its goal of pairing gold’s historical stability with practical circulation. The Idaho Goldback series represents the newest addition to the program, offering state-themed designs and new denominations. Right now, 10 Idaho Goldback Gold Notes are available online at BullionMax.

Note Highlights:

  • Notes arrive in either individual sleeves or bundles of 10 notes!
  • Unique designs for the Idaho series!
  • Visuals inspired by the figure of Perseverantia!
  • Contains 1/100 troy oz of .9999 pure gold.
  • Design honors the perseverance of Idaho’s mining and mineral sectors.
  • Please keep in mind that Goldbacks are NOT US legal tender.
  • UV enhancements and other advanced security features included.

These 10 Idaho Goldback Gold Notes are offered individually inside plastic sleeves, while orders of 10 notes are packaged together using a black bundle tie. Bundled notes do not include sleeves. Each Goldback incorporates modern security features such as UV-reactive artwork, unique serial numbers, and micro-printing to help verify authenticity.

On the design of the 10 Idaho Goldback Gold Note, a female allegorical figure representing Perseverantia is shown seated beside a mining cart near Silver City. Located high in the Owyhee Mountains of southwestern Idaho at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level, Silver City is one of the best-preserved ghost towns in the American West. Its historic wooden structures remain standing today as reminders of the town’s once-active mining community. After major gold and silver discoveries in the 1860s, Silver City rapidly developed into a busy center with saloons, hotels, newspapers, and a growing population that reached several thousand people. At one point, the Idaho territorial government even considered naming Silver City as the territorial capital. However, as ore deposits declined in the late 1800s, the town gradually lost its population and mining activity.

The figure of Perseverantia represents the Roman allegory of perseverance and steady determination. She symbolizes the ability to continue forward despite challenges, setbacks, and uncertain outcomes. Traditionally shown as a calm and resolute figure holding a column or stone, she reflects stability and strength. Rather than simple stubbornness, Perseverantia represents the disciplined commitment to continue working toward a goal even when the journey becomes difficult.
