One of the newest additions to the Goldback Series has arrived, introducing another symbolic design to the Florida Goldback collection. Goldbacks were developed to help bring spendable gold back into everyday transactions throughout the United States. As a voluntary gold currency, Goldbacks can be accepted by participating businesses as payment for goods and services. They are issued in small denominations designed to support common, day-to-day purchases. Today, 1/4 Florida Goldback Gold Notes are available online from BullionMax.
Note Highlights:
These 1/4 Florida Goldback Gold Notes are offered in a bundled pack of 100 notes secured together with a strap. Please note that individual currency sleeves are not included with these notes.
The obverse of the 1/4 Florida Goldback Gold Note depicts Pax within the clear waters of Molasses Reef off the Florida coast. Known for its excellent visibility and colorful underwater ecosystem, Molasses Reef is a location where sunlight passes through shallow tropical waters, creating shifting shades of gold and blue across the coral formations below. The natural lighting helps showcase the wide variety of marine life found throughout the reef. One of the most recognizable species in the area is the French Angelfish, a fish noted for its dark scales outlined with bright yellow-gold accents. Its appearance and movement among the coral make it a memorable feature of the reef environment.
Molasses Reef is part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and is located roughly six miles southeast of Key Largo. The reef is known for its rich biodiversity, clear waters, and easy accessibility, making it one of the most popular snorkeling and diving destinations in the United States. Its name comes from a vessel carrying molasses that ran aground on the reef in the 1800s. Today, the area supports a wide range of marine species and remains an important part of Florida’s coastal ecosystem.
