The slab includes a West Point Star label to note its production at the West Point Mint. A PF70 grade indicates a coin with full, original mint luster and no visible imperfections. Coins with the UCAM designation display strong frosted details that contrast clearly against deeply mirrored background fields.

During 2021, the United States Mint issued both Type 1 and Type 2 versions of the American Silver Eagle. Type 1 coins were produced from the beginning of the year through early June and feature John Mercanti’s original heraldic eagle design. In July, the Mint began releasing the Type 2 coins with Emily Damstra’s new bald eagle design, marking the first significant reverse update in the series.

The obverse of the 2021-W Proof American Silver Eagle continues to showcase Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty design. Liberty is depicted walking toward the sun, draped in the American flag as she moves confidently ahead. Starting in 2021, Weinman’s signature was added to the design and can be found on the lower right area of the obverse.

On the reverse of the 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle is Emily Damstra’s depiction of a bald eagle in flight. The eagle is shown carrying an oak branch as it prepares to land. Surrounding inscriptions provide the required details, including the coin’s weight, purity, and denomination.
