The Perth Mint is set to move its Lunar Series III program into 2026 with the launch of the Year of the Horse coins. In the Chinese Zodiac, the horse is the seventh sign in the 12-year cycle, and the 2026 release focuses on the Year of the Fire Horse in particular. Each zodiac animal appears in five different elemental forms over the full cycle, with each version linked to one of the five elements. Today, 2026 1 Kilo Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coins are available from BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
In the Chinese zodiac’s 60-year cycle, the Fire Horse combines the Horse sign with the Fire element. This pairing appears just once every 60 years and is connected to traditional Chinese cosmology, where the active yang qualities of the Horse are further emphasized when joined with the Fire element.
All 2026 1 Kilo Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coins offered here are individually packaged by the Perth Mint. Each coin is secured in a classic black Perth Mint display case with a clear acrylic lid. The case is housed in a Lunar Horse-themed shipper and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. On the reverse, the design includes full-color artwork along with a 24-karat gold privy mark.
On the obverse of the 2026 Australian Silver Lunar Horse Coin, you will find King Charles III in left-profile relief. He is depicted without a crown in a portrait designed by Dan Thorne, representing the first official coinage effigy of Charles III used on Australian legal tender.
The reverse of the 2026 1 Kilo Silver Lunar Horse Coin depicts a mare running alongside her foal across open grasslands, with distant mountain peaks visible on the horizon. This scene is the work of Ing Ing Jong, who first contributed a lunar animal design to the Perth Mint’s series in 2013.
