The latest addition to the Divine Weapons Series celebrates Hermes’ winged staff, a powerful emblem of communication and travel. Known as the caduceus, the staff features two snakes coiled around a rod topped with a pair of wings. In Greek mythology, the caduceus symbolized Hermes’ authority as a herald and his freedom to cross between the heavens, earth, and underworld. Today, 2.5 oz Antique The Divine Weapons Winged Staff Silver Bars are available from BullionMax.
Bar Highlights:
Hermes, son of Zeus and one of the twelve Olympians, served as messenger to the gods and was known for his wit and speed. Mythology tells that even as a newborn, Hermes showed cunning—stealing Apollo’s cattle and inventing the lyre from a tortoise shell. Acting as guide of souls, he traveled freely between the mortal world, Mount Olympus, and the underworld.
Each 2.5 oz Antique The Divine Weapons Winged Staff Silver Bar comes in a capsule inside a presentation box, along with a Certificate of Authenticity. This release includes an antique finish with selective 24-karat gold plating. Gold accents appear on the wings and staff on the obverse, as well as on the bellies of the snakes. On the reverse, gold can be seen tracing the backs of the entwined serpents.
The obverse design shows the caduceus in full form—a rod crowned with wings and intertwined snakes. The serpents represent balance and unity, while the wings suggest speed and transcendence. According to legend, Hermes obtained the staff after stopping a fight between two snakes, which then coiled peacefully around it. The image has since become a symbol of communication and harmony.
