Introduced in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf has become one of the most recognizable silver coins around the globe. First launched nearly a decade after the gold version made its debut in 1979, the Silver Maple Leaf was the first silver bullion coin from a major nation to feature .9999 fine silver. Today, you can find the 2026 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins available at BullionMax.
Coin Highlights:
On the obverse of 2026 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coins, the Royal Canadian Mint features a portrait of King Charles III. This design was introduced in 2024 and shows the King in left-profile relief without a crown. The artwork was created by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
The reverse side of the 2026 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf highlights the classic sugar maple leaf. This image was originally designed in 1979 by Walter Ott for the first Gold Maple Leaf coin and has remained unchanged, also appearing on silver, platinum, and palladium coins in the series.
The sugar maple has a long history in North America. It developed during the Tertiary period about 65 million years ago as part of the larger maple genus that first grew in Asia. Over time, as glaciers shifted and retreated, the sugar maple thrived in the temperate regions of today’s northeastern United States and southeastern Canada.
Each 2026 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Single coins ship in protective plastic flips, while orders of 25 come in tubes. Bulk orders of 500 coins arrive in Monster Boxes, with 20 tubes per box. Every coin in the series includes a small laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark on the reverse for added security.
