The American Gold Eagle is the official gold bullion coin of the United States. In 2026, this popular series reaches its 40th anniversary. Since its start in 1986, the series has featured four weights, including the 1/4 oz coin. While it may not be as well-known as the 1 oz version, the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle has been a consistent part of the lineup. Today, BullionMax offers 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Tubes for purchase.
Coin Tube Highlights:
Each tube includes 40 individual 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins, all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. These coins are packaged together to offer a total of 10 Troy ounces of gold content in each tube.
The 1/4 oz Gold Eagle saw its highest mintage in the debut year of 1986, when more than 726,000 coins were struck. That record still stands, though the coin came close to breaking it in 1999, when demand rose due to the Y2K scare and mintage reached over 564,000 coins.
On the obverse of 2026 Gold Eagle Coins, you’ll find Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ well-known design of Lady Liberty. Originally used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle in 1907, this image shows Liberty striding forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
The reverse of the 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle features the current design of a bald eagle. Introduced in 2021, this close-up left-facing profile of the eagle’s head was created by Jennie Norris. It marked a design update that coincided with the 35th anniversary of the series.
