In 2021, the United States Mint celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar designs. Back in 1921, silver dollar production resumed after a 17-year break. That same year saw the final Morgan Dollar release and the introduction of the Peace Dollar. To mark the occasion, the US Mint created six modern silver dollars honoring these historic designs. The obverse of each 2021 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar features a portrait of Liberty. The Morgan Dollar design by George T. Morgan shows Liberty in left profile, wearing a Phrygian cap and a crown of cotton and wheat. The Peace Dollar by Anthony de Francisci also shows Liberty in left profile but with gentler features, loose hair, and a tall crown of rays.

On the reverse, the 2021 Morgan Dollar includes the classic heraldic eagle design, a longtime symbol of the coin’s history. The 2021 Peace Dollar, on the other hand, shows a bald eagle resting on an olive branch, meant to represent peace.

The US Mint struck five versions of the 2021 Morgan Dollar and one version of the Peace Dollar. The San Francisco Mint used an S mint mark, while the Denver Mint coins feature a D. Three Morgan Dollars were produced in Philadelphia: one with no mint mark and two with privy marks honoring the Carson City (CC) and New Orleans (O) Mints. The Peace Dollar was also made in Philadelphia and does not have a mint mark.

Each coin in this 6-coin set has been graded Mint State 70 by the PCGS. That means every coin has its full original luster and shows no post-production flaws. They’re also sealed in individual protective slabs for safe storage.
