Product Details

The Horse is the seventh animal in the Chinese zodiac, celebrated for qualities like energy, independence, and a love of freedom. This zodiac sign appears every twelve years, with recent Horse years including 1978, 1990, 2002, and 2014. Each Horse year carries unique meanings based on the element it’s paired with in the zodiac cycle. Today, BullionMax offers the 2026 1/2 Gram Proof Mongolia Gold Lunar Horse Coin for those interested in this powerful zodiac symbol.

Coin Highlights:

  • Comes with a protective capsule!
  • Honors the Year of the Horse!
  • CIT Lunar Series!
  • Limited mintage of only 5,000 coins!
  • Contains 1/2 Gram (.016 Troy oz) of .9999 pure gold.
  • The face value of 1,000 Togrog is fully backed by the Mongolian government.
  • On the obverse is the Bank of Mongolia seal.
  • The reverse includes a horse rearing up on its hind legs.

The Chinese lunar calendar determines the start and end dates of the Year of the Horse, which usually falls between late January and mid-February on the Gregorian calendar. The cycle combines twelve animals with five natural elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—creating different combinations like the Fire Horse or Wood Horse. Each pairing is thought to bring unique traits and experiences to those born in that year.

Each 2026 1/2 Gram Proof Mongolia Gold Lunar Horse Coin is safely housed in a plastic capsule. These proof coins are made by CIT using 24-karat (.9999 fine) gold and are part of a limited mintage. The proof quality gives the coin a clean finish, with frosted visuals and reflective backgrounds.

The obverse of the coin shows the emblem of the Bank of Mongolia. This side also includes markings for the coin’s weight, metal content, purity, face value, and issuing country. As legal tender, the coin carries a denomination of 1,000 Togrog.

The reverse features a bold image of a horse rising on its hind legs. In Chinese culture, the Horse is a long-standing symbol of strength, speed, and honor. Horses played a key role in the development of ancient China, especially in military and royal traditions, which led to their importance in the zodiac.
