The Battles of Lexington and Concord, fought on April 19, 1775, were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. These early clashes occurred when around 700 British troops left Boston under orders to capture weapons stockpiled by colonial militias and arrest leaders like Samuel Adams and John Hancock. The year 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of these historic events. Right now, BullionMax is proud to offer the 2025 1 oz Proof Colorized Mesa Grande Silver The Battles of Lexington and Concord Coin.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2025 1 oz Proof Colorized Mesa Grande Silver The Battles of Lexington and Concord Coin is housed in an individual capsule and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The obverse design is colorized, and mintage is limited to just 776 coins—a reference to the historic year of 1776, when the United States declared its independence.
Leading up to the battles, colonial riders such as Paul Revere helped spread word of the British advance. Thanks to these early warnings, local militia groups were able to gather before the troops reached Lexington. The confrontation began with a standoff on Lexington Green and quickly escalated into gunfire, resulting in the deaths of eight colonial militiamen. This pivotal moment would later be remembered as the “shot heard round the world.”
The obverse side of the 2025 Proof Colorized Mesa Grande Silver Coin captures the intensity of the early battle. In the background, British soldiers are shown forming ranks. In the foreground, American militiamen are depicted loading and firing their muskets in defense.
The reverse of the coin features the Liberty Tree, a recurring symbol in the series. This design includes rays of light beaming behind the tree, an American bald eagle flying above, and colonists gathered below discussing the fight for liberty.
