Product Details

The Peace Silver Dollar was the last 90% silver dollar made for everyday use in the U.S. First introduced in 1921, it was designed by Anthony de Francisci to represent the nation’s desire for peace after World War I. Today, BullionMax offers 1934-D Peace Silver Dollar Coins in Mint State condition, ready for your collection.

  • Graded Mint State 61 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
  • Obverse features a portrait of Lady Liberty.
  • Reverse displays the image of an American bald eagle.

The obverse of the 1934-D Peace Silver Dollar shows Lady Liberty in left-profile, her hair flowing freely and a radiant crown on her head. Designer Anthony de Francisci included a classic touch by using “TRVST” instead of “TRUST,” borrowing from Latin spelling styles.

On the reverse side of the 1934-D Peace Dollar Coin, there’s an image of a bald eagle perched on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talons. The eagle looks toward the rising sun, reinforcing the coin’s peaceful theme.

The story behind the Peace Dollar adds historical value to its design. It was created following the 1918 Pittman Act, which called for millions of silver dollars to be melted and later replaced. Although the high-relief design used in 1921 caused production challenges, the Peace Dollar remained in circulation for over a decade. In 1964, the Denver Mint struck new examples dated that year, but they were never released and were believed to have been destroyed.

These 1934-D Peace Silver Dollar Coins have been graded MS61 and come in a secure slab. MS61 coins show average mint luster with scattered contact marks, including some more noticeable scratches or nicks. Minor hairlines may also be visible.
