The Gold Panda Series launched with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins. A fifth weight, the 1/20 oz coin, was added the following year in 1983. Each year since its debut, the reverse design has featured a new panda image—except in 2002, when the mint reused the 2001 design.
